Our story: making self-care the easy choice

I'm Sahasra. I started Femi9 Energy in Hyderabad in 2026 for the women I love: the ones who give everything to everyone, and keep almost nothing for themselves.

This is how one small habit became Semi.

How Semi began

  1. What I kept hearing

When I talked to the women in my life, my friends, my sisters, my mother, I heard the same story again and again. Cramps, mood swings, unpredictable cycles and tired days had quietly become “just part of being a woman”.

I didn't believe it had to feel that way.

  2. What we tried

I'd been reading about seed cycling: a simple food habit of eating flax and pumpkin seeds in the first half of your cycle, and sesame and sunflower seeds in the second. I shared it with them, and they loved the idea.

But within a few weeks, the measuring, grinding and remembering became one more chore. We tried powders for smoothies and salads. That became a chore too.

  3. What I realised

It wasn't a lack of desire. It was a lack of energy.

The women I admire give every bit of themselves to their families, their work and their homes. By the end of the day, there's nothing left for them. And in those tired moments, they reach for whatever is quick: another cup of tea, a biscuit, something sweet.

  4. So I made it easy

What if the healthy choice could be the easy one, and taste like the treat she was already craving?

That's Semi: the right seeds for each phase of your cycle, already measured into one soft, chewy bar. Naturally sweetened, with no refined sugar and no preservatives. Purple for the first half of your cycle, Pink for the second. One bar a day, nothing to prepare.

Every woman deserves to embrace her womanhood, in every moment of her life.

Kind to the planet

Good for her shouldn't mean bad for the earth

From the very first day, I didn't want Semi to leave a trail of plastic behind. If it's made to care for women, it should care for the place we all live too.

So every bar is wrapped in a paper-based pouch, certified compostable to ISO 17088, with no plastic layer. Your order is cushioned in honeycomb paper wrap and travels in a corn-starch mailer that our supplier certifies as compostable, sealed with paper tape. We're honest about what's left: the glue on the tape may not be compostable yet, and we're working on it.
