Eco is our Aesthetic: packaging that's kind to the earth

Semi is made to care for women, so wrapping it in plastic that outlives all of us felt wrong. Plastic was the easy path. I chose the harder one: finding a better option for every single layer of your order.

Every layer, thought through

  • The bar wrapper

    A paper-based pouch made by Pakka, the company that developed India's first compostable flexible packaging. It's certified compostable to ISO 17088 (tested by CIPET), has no plastic layer, and still keeps every bar fresh.

  • The cushioning

    Instead of plastic bubble wrap, your bars are protected by honeycomb paper wrap: strong, springy and made of paper.

  • The mailer

    Your order travels in a corn-starch bag that our supplier certifies as compostable. It keeps your parcel dry without using plastic.

  • The thank-you card

    Our note to you is printed on plantable seed paper. Pop it in a pot, water it, and it grows into herbs or flowers.

Where we're still working

We're honest about what's left: the glue on our paper tape may not be compostable yet, and we're looking for a better option. And compostable packaging needs composting, so the best place for it is a municipal or community compost, not plastic recycling.
